BIG DAY OF GIVING
|
Support the library with a leaf on our Giving Tree |
Our Giving Tree is growing, and if we do say so ourselves, it is gorgeous. We envision the day the leaves will spread around the full wall ... and maybe walls! Board member Bill Cobb is shown placing another leaf on the tree. We engrave the leaves with the names of donors, loved ones, etc.. for a contribution of at least $300. Higher levels of giving are recognized with embellshments. (The tree was painted by artist Lesley Kemp).
The tree is made of wood and was beautifully sculpted and painted for us by Mike Jimena, co-owner with his wife, Connie Mockenhaupt, of Mikon Productions. You may recognize them as director/producers and often actors at the Sutter Street Theater. Each leaf was hand cut so no two exactly match. Executive Engravers on Natoma Street is etching the names.
